In the U.S., St. Augustine grass is found from the Carolinas to Florida and westward along the Gulf Coast to Texas and in Southern and Central California. Because of its lack of winter hardiness, St. Augustine grass is restricted to areas with mild winter temperatures.
After establishment the success of St. Augustine grass as a lawn grass depends largely on management. Mowing, fertilization and supplemental watering are required to maintain a dense, green, weed-free turf of St. Augustine grass.
Mowing heights may range from 1 to 3 inches depending on the frequency of mowing and the degree of shade present. At mowing heights below two inches, St. Augustine grass should be mowed every five days during late spring and summer. At a 2 1/2 inch mowing height, a 7-10 mowing schedule is adequate. Above 2 1/2 inches, St. Augustine grass should be mowed at 10 to 14 day intervals. In moderate to dense shade, St. Augustine grass should be mowed at about 3 inches at 10 day intervals.

The most notable attribute of Palmetto when examining a field or plot is it's deep, vivid color and soft texture. Its visual appeal alone makes it a superior choice in comparison to other strains now available. However, just as importantly, Palmetto has proved to be an exceptional performer in both sun and shade. Often in designing a landscape, a grass is required that will thrive in both full sun and shade. This problem becomes more exaggerated as landscapes mature, and shady areas increase when trees grow larger. Palmetto is the most versatile St. Augustine available to address these changing needs.
Another important characteristic of Palmetto is its deep, massive root system. This trait could reduce the frequency of irrigation needed once established. In addition, this root system causes Palmetto to transplant well, and establish quickly. It is often desirable to plant a landscape that gives the appearance of a mature lawn shortly after installing.

Palisades, Zoysia japonica, is a vegetatively produced, medium broad textured, high density turf suitable for home lawns, golf fairways and roughs, sports fields, industrial parks and highway medians.
Palisades is a medium to coarse textured turf noted for its shade tolerance and low water use requirements. It tolerates mowing as close as 1/2" with good weed competitions ideally as high as 2" to 2-1/2" for home lawns. Palisades close mowing also makes it ideal for use on golf course fairways especially where water availability is of concern.
Palisades is distinguished from other zoysia grasses by its aggressive regrowth, medium-coarse texture, and good winter hardiness, tolerance to low mowing, good-excellent shade tolerance, and low water use requirement. Palisades has reasonably good salt tolerance. Palisades will fit into the golf course market in fairways and roughs, and ringing bunker complexes, and the home lawn industry. It is tolerant to low mow conditions and initiates spring growth earlier in the spring.

Tifway 419 is an improved hybrid Bermuda developed from the famed Tifton, Georgia turf-breeding program. Tifway forms a fine textured, dense hybrid Bermuda turf that excels in high traffic areas or under athletic field conditions. It is more aggressive than Tifgreen and holds its color longer going into the winter months. Tifway performs at its best in full sun with a mowing height of 1/2 - 3/4 inches. When fully established, it has excellent drought and heat tolerance and will recover quickly from abuse or neglect.
Tifway 419 is recommended for full sun turf grass areas with high traffic and heavy use conditions. It is best utilized on well-maintained athletic fields and golf fairways and tees. Tiff is ideal for residential and commercial lawns. You can plant this grass in the full sun or with little or no shade.

Celebration Bermuda is one rugged performer. Attractive as well as durable, Celebration is a hybrid cultivar of Bermuda grass developed in Australia for exceptional functionality in a wide range of applications.
Engineered for superior wear, Celebration stands up to the heaviest traffic and - if injured - recovers rapidly. Add to that an excellent tolerance for heat (up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit) in dry or tropical climates and outstanding performance in full sun for a drought-tolerant variety of Bermuda grass.
Celebration is also tolerant of moderate shade. Once established, Celebration requires only moderate watering, mowing, de-thatching, and maintenance. Because Celebration is aggressive with weeds, it rarely experiences disease and insect problems.
