My Blog: This blog will be somewhat disorganized, sort of just a page filled with ideas, inspiration, and feelings, enjoy. I would like to get started by thanking everyone for coming out and supporting D and B Tree Company. So far, this year has been wonderful. Thank you so much. I want to invite all readers and D and B Customers to come by and check out our well stocked garden center. We have received rave reviews as to the style of our selection and the quality of our plants. We are having an exciting spring open house March 14th and 15th. You are all welcome to come enjoy free food, drinks, and fun.
As I mentioned, I want the March blog to inspire you to plant, and to act responsibly to this changing world. You know, it seems that the one question that I am not able to avoid is: " I bet business is slow." Well, the truth is that business is good, and I believe that in these times of economic stagnation, people will begin to understand the importance of sustainable living and responsible practices. Let us all start figuring out new ways to enjoy what is already ours, lets get our hands dirty, plant our own food, lets wash our own cars, and walk to our destination when we can. Being green does not make us a "hippie," a "tree hugger," or any other weird name. It simply makes us responsible. Have you ever felt that great feeling when you throw your recyclables into the right compartments at whole foods? This is how we should feel every day.
I want to encourage all of you to plant for greener air, and to avoid chemicals for cleaner dirt and cleaner water. ( I know, clean dirt.....funny!) There are so many facts and figures available about the environmental advantages of planting lawns, trees, and other flora in your yard.
This month, I will be posting pictures of past projects, the new garden center
This month’s tribute goes to one of my true favorite plants and my favorite curator thereof……..ready? The plant is Coleus, with beautiful colored foliage and interest throughout the year. There are countless varieties and colors, some for sun, some for shade, and some in between. Go right now, as fast as you can, and buy some and plant them in your favorite spot, you can thank me later. The person, who else? …………My mother, Sheri Farmer, who makes my everyday seem brighter after a simple phone call in which she asks why I haven’t called her and she follows it with an I love you. She also happens to be the person who first introduced me to this plant, Coleus, at the young age of 5 years old. So here’s to you, Mom, you’re great.
